“I loved the rawness and the authenticity of Afterglow. It was intense but I connected to it because I know these people and places. It teleported me to the time I was in Abilene. A bit of nostalgia is what I felt. Nostalgia with a shot of whiskey and a tinge of existential absurdity.”
Afterglow tackles many of the questions we’d often like to overlook. In general many of us can relate to David’s experiences. Particularly for me it was the “loss of faith” in institutions pretending to be something else that really hit home. Ignore this book at your own risk. Afterglow will take you on a journey if you let it. One that is both familiar and yet strangely foreign at the same time. I hope others can see some part of themselves and their life experiences in this collection. I know I certainly have.
